Omer Yurtseven has missed each of the 13 games played by the Miami Heat at the beginning of the 2022-23 NBA Regular Season, and as reported by The Miami Herald, he’s planning to undergo surgery on his injured left ankle.

The expectation is the recovery from this surgery will keep him out for up to three months, so that he may be able to return by March.

Yurtseven’s only game action in the past few weeks was in the Heat’s preseason opener when he has 11 points and 9 rebounds against the Minnesota Timberwolves. From then on, he missed the rest of the preseason schedule.

The Turkish center was supposed to play EuroBasket 2022 alongside Alperen Sengun and Cedi Osman but refused Ergin Ataman’s call some days before the start of the competition.

In the 2021-22 NBA season, Yurtseven averaged 5.3 points and 5.3 rebounds per game in 56 appearances with the Miami Heat.
