During the NBA Night, the New Orleans Pelicans beat 126-117 San Antonio Spurs, and the two European centers of the team had both great performances.
Jonas Valanciunas had a double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds, while Willy Hernangomez scored 13 points, adding 7 rebounds and 5 assists, coming off the bench.
After the game, the Spanish big talked about his teammate. “I’m super happy for JV. He’s my best friend on the team, I would say. He’s helping me on and off the court, to get better as well. He’s one of the best centers in the league. And then, he’s got a big heart. He wants everybody to be good around him. I’m super proud of JV’s work last game. Today, he dominated again. I’m super happy to be around JV. I just love him”, he said.
Jonas Valanciunas is posting almost a double-double every night: 13.8 points and 9.4 rebounds per game for the Lithuanian center.
Willy Hernangomez, instead, after winning the EuroBasket 2022 MVP is averaging only 5.1 points and 3.2 rebounds per game.
