In the 2021 NBA Draft, the New York Knicks selected Barcelona’s Rokas Jokubaitis with the 34th pick, and the head coach of the team from MSG, Tom Thibodeau, would like to see him in the Knicks uniform.

Jokubaitis played for the New York team during the Summer League after being drafted, and Thibodeau and his associates liked what they saw from him.

It would be more a question for the front office, but we liked it a lot when he played the Summer League. I hope he has a good season, and then in the summer, we’ll see. But yes, I would like to see him,” Tom Thibodeau said to Mundo Deportivo.

The Catalan outlet also adds that according to the information handled by those who have been following the New York team daily for years, the front office of the Knicks continues to consider him to strengthen their roster for the next season.

Especially with the future of Miles McBride, Derrick Rose, and Immanuel Quickly uncertain.

Jokubaitis missed the last Summer League due to ear surgery. As New York Posts reported, Knicks decided to stash him with Barcelona for another season and wait for the decision on the Lithaninan for the summer of 2023, when they will have more space in the roster and the wage bill.

The young point guard is tied to Barcelona with a contract until the summer of 2025 but has an exit clause for the NBA after each season.

I’ll probably stay in Barcelona for another year, so I’ll try to impress them even more,” Jokubaitis said to BasketNews at the end of last season.

Rising Star of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague for 2022 had his ups and downs this season, averaging just 4,4 points and 2,2 assists per game in the European competition, but with much better numbers in the ACB league with 7,3 points and 4,5 assists per game.
