The Sacramento Kings keep on surprising in the 2022-23 NBA Regular Season, and the Californian franchise is now 3rd in the Western Conference with a 26-18 record after beating Oklahoma City.

Two important assets in the 118-113 home win were Keegan Murray and Domantas Sabonis, who both produced amazing performances for Mike Brown’s team.

The American rookie had a ferocious double-double of 29 points and 14 rebounds with 10/12 FG, while the Lithuanian 26-year-old put up his fifth triple-double of the season with 18 points, 14 rebounds, and 14 assists, shooting perfectly at the line (8/8).

Sabonis “can be in the MVP conversation”

After the win, Keegan Murray talked excellently about his European teammate, who was overwhelmed by MVP chants from its crowd in the fourth quarter. “He’s for sure an All-Star and if we keep winning the way we’re winning right now, he can be in the MVP conversation. I think he’s the best player in the league”, the Iowa Hawkeyes product said.

While Steve Kerr has proposed to reduce the number of games in the regular season to preserve his superstars, Mike Brown didn’t hesitate a single minute about playing Domantas Sabonis against the Thunder.

“He missed two days and then he worked out and he was at shootaround today, so I’m good with him playing. Our medical staff says there’s no minutes restriction needed and so we’ll play it like that. If it was more than two days, it would probably be a concern”, the Kings‘ head coach commented on the Lithuanian All-Star before the game.

Finally, Domantas Sabonis himself commented on the team’s moment. “I’m just proud of us for taking care of this homestand. We talked about it, that we had a couple of games here that were meant to be winnable games, and we went out and took care of business. Dropped some that we should have won, but just happy overall, and we’ve just got to keep building and keep getting better”, he said.
