The Bucks and Giannis Antetokounmpo will likely be present when LeBron James breaks Kareem Abdul Jabbar’s record and becomes the leading scorer in NBA history

Lebron James is 36 points away from the all-time scoring record, with the possibility of breaking it in the next match against Oklahoma City Thunder or Milwaukee Bucks right after.

After the win against Portland Trail Blazers, last week’s best player of the East, Giannis Antetokounmpo, spoke about James and a potential witnessing of the history.

I’ve said it many times. Although many people talk about Michael Jordan, I grew up watching LeBron, Kobe, and Durant. What made him stand out was consistency. He’s been good for 20 years. He never had a serious injury and was always available for his team. He always plays at the highest level,” Antetokounmpo said.

Kareem Abdul Jabaar stands at 38,387 points, while Lebron is at 38,352.

He’ll probably break the record against the Thunder or us, but he won’t stay there. He will likely become the first player in history to reach 40,000 points. This year he is averaging 30 points, just like last year. The last time he did this was when he was 23 years old? It’s crazy, but he’s getting better. He moves better and understands the game, but now he’s dominating. He knows where to go, how to get ahead,” Giannis continued.

He wants to follow in James’ footsteps.

Apparently, he has set the plan I want to follow. Many players come and go. They are good for two, three, or five years. I want to be great for 15-plus years. To be able to make my team successful, win championships, and improve.

If Lebron doesn’t score 36 against Oklahoma, Giannis and the Bucks will stand on his way to history.

We will try to get the win in LA, who beat us in the first match. We will not think about the record. But it is certainly a historical record, and you have to take your hat off to someone so great. You have to show him respect, give him flowers, and hope that in the future, you will be in such a position that people will do the same to you. He’s definitely one of the best, if not the GOAT,” Giannis Antetokounmpo showed his respect to the King.
