To lead the Denver Nuggets against the Los Angeles Clippers, Nikola Jokic recorded the 23rd triple-double of his 2022-23 NBA Regular Season, the 14th in his last 19 games.

More importantly, it was a 40-point triple-double, to which he added 17 rebounds and 10 assists, shooting 14/21 from the field and 12/15 at the line.

When the Serbian superstar records a triple-double, the Denver Nuggets are undefeated. After the 134-124 OT victory, Mike Malone spoke about the role of his team’s leader.

“If you’re looking for a super athlete to win MVP, he’s not your candidate. If you’re looking for a great player that impacts winning in every possible way, and whose team is the first place in the Western Conference, then he’s your man”, he said.

Then, he went on to congratulate Nikola Jokic even more, supporting once again his candidacy for the MVP role. “Frankly, I don’t give a damn what people think. I know he’s the MVP and his teammates know that and all the fans here in Denver and back home in Serbia know that”, Mike Malone added.
