Chicago Bulls and Nikola Vucevic have opened up contract extension conversations, Shams Charania reported.

According to Charania, there’s mutual interest in getting a deal done, and the Montenegrin center can sign an extension up until June 30. If there’s no agreement by that point, Vucevic will be entering free agency.

The 32-year-old Montenegrin center signed the four-year, $100 million contract in 2019.

Vucevic averaged 17.6 points and 11.0 rebounds this year, with the Bulls entering the play-in tournament as the No. 10 seed in the East, making it past the Raptors in the first round, but then falling to the Miami Heat who are now in the NBA Finals.
