Goran Dragic sees himself retiring as a Miami Heat player.

Goran Dragic played the best basketball in his career with the Miami Heat and he’d like to retire wearing the team’s jersey.

“I live here. My kids are here. If I’m looking to finish my career it would be no brainer to finish it in Miami,” Dragic said. “This is my home. I spent unbelievable seven years here. I love all the players and all the people in the front office. Coach O [Octavio De La Grana), coach Spo [Erik Spoelstra], coach Quinny [Chris Quinn]. Those guys gave me everything.”

Dragic, 37, joined the Heat in 2015 from the Phoenix Suns via a trade that also included his brother Zoran. In 2017, The Slovenian guard had a career-high 20.3 points, along with 5.8 assists and 3.8 rebounds while being an All-Star for the first time in his career in 2018.

During the NBA Bubble in 2020, Dragic registered a playoff career-highs 19.1 points, plus 4.4 assists and 4.1 rebounds as the Heat made the Finals for the first time since 2014.

Dragic last played for the Milwaukee Bucks, averaging 5.6 points in seven games.

“This [Miami] is the city I see myself in the future,” Dragic added.

The Heat are currently facing the Denver Nuggets in the NBA Finals. The Nuggets won Game 1 at home behind a triple-double (27 points, 14 assists, 10 rebounds) by Nikola Jokic.
