Since becoming an NBA superstar, Giannis Antetokounmpo started to invest in several markets outside of basketball, to share his name and the one of his family in non-NBA businesses. The latest announcement is related to the acquisition of some Candy Funhouse quotes by the Greek Freak.
“When I came to the US, I was 18 and I was living by myself. Usually, you go and get vegetables, healthy stuff to eat. But I was young, I didn’t know what to really expect. So I went to the candy section, and I bought some Oreos”, he started saying in the announcement video on his YouTube channel. “You guys know how much I love candies, so I and my family decided to join the team and become stakeholders in the company. It’s exciting”, the Greek power forward added.
“During the pandemic, we got so many packages. There was one box outside of my door, I was expecting to get some shoes from Nike, but it was a Candy Funhouse box with a bunch of candies. It was one of the best moments of the pandemic for me, it filled me with so much joy”, Giannis Antetokounmpo said. “It doesn’t matter how old you are, candy brings joy”, finally stated.
The Canadian candy franchise also announced the partnership with the Antetokounmpo family in an official press release. “Welcome, fellow candy enthusiasts and basketball fans, we’re excited to share that NBA All-Star Giannis & The Antetokounmpo family have become stakeholders of Candy Funhouse! We are honored to take our proudly Canadian brand and expand it to the US and beyond alongside the Antetokounmpo family as we continue to spread memorable experiences through candy and pop culture!”, it says.
