Draymond Green, the four-time NBA champion and Golden State Warriors forward, has reportedly declined his $27.5 million player option for the 2023-24 season, according to Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul, as reported by The Athletic’s Shams Charania. This move allows Green to enter unrestricted free agency and explore sign-and-trade options.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski added that Green will continue to engage in conversations with the Warriors.
We will continue to talk to Golden State and explore all options,” as stated by Rich Paul.

Wojnarowski further noted that the Golden State Warriors are motivated to secure Green on a new contract.

Throughout his ten-year NBA career, Green has remained with the Golden State Warriors, forming a formidable trio alongside Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson. Together, they have played a pivotal role in the Warriors’ success, capturing four championships.

Green maintained an average of around 8.7 points, seven rebounds, and 5.6 assists per game in 758 regular season appearances. His exceptional defensive skills have earned him the NBA Defensive Player of the Year award in 2017, in addition to five NBA All-Defensive First Team selections.
