While there’s no official offer yet from Sacramento, Sasha Vezenkov is expected to get a very lucrative contract offer which may be an ideal way for him to enter the NBA

Sasha Vezenkov is waiting for the official offer from Sacramento, Olympiacos owners have publicly said that they want to keep him, implying a salary raise, however, the financial resources of an NBA franchise, plus the undeniably strong interest of the Kings in the Bulgarian forward can dictate his final decision with ease.

Vezenkov is expected to get much more than the bi-annual exception ($4M) and even more than the tax-payers mid-level exception which will be around $5M for the 2023-24 season.

If Sacramento ends up making deals below the luxury tax line, then the non-tax-payers mid-level exception rises to a whopping $12,4M, giving the ability Sacramento to give him a salary of around $7M.

Such a number will prove that the Kings really value him and also make it impossible for Olympiacos to keep him, since the equivalent for the Greeks will be a gross contract of around 4,5 million euros per year, despite the relatively low Greek taxation for athletes.

Of course, this is now just theory with Vezenkov waiting to get an official offer and start negotiating. He is expected to talk with Olympiacos also before taking his final decision, however especially regarding the financial data, as expected, Sacramento has the upper hand and a two or three-year contract will be simply too good of an opportunity to pass.
