The 29-year-old Serbian playmaker sends his goodbye before departing to the NBA with Oklahoma

On July 1, as reported by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, it was announced that Vasilije Micic would play for the next three seasons in the NBA, earning 23.5 million dollars with the Oklahoma City Thunder, which have his rights.

Now, the two-time EuroLeague Final Four MVP in 2021 and 2022, as well as the 2021 Regular Season MVP, has said goodbye to Anadolu Efes with a message on his Instagram profile: “After 5 wonderful years with Anadolu Efes, the moment to separate has arrived. I don’t have words to express how much I’ve loved every moment in this club, and how thankful I am for being a part of Anadolu Efes. I want to THANK all the members of the club, coaches, medical staff, all my teammates, and of course, fans that helped me achieve my personal goals, Team success and to Make my dreams come true. From the bottom of my heart thank you and love you. Forever Anadolu Efes kid. See you soon”.

He then went on to list all of his 20 teammates, Ergin Ataman and the coaching staff, the members of the medical staff, and the marketing area during his five-year time with Anadolu Efes, getting a massive amount of love from the white-and-blue Turkish fans in the comments of the post.

In the last EuroLeague season, Vasilije Micic played 31 games averaging 16.0 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 5.4 assists per game, trying to push Anadolu Efes to the Playoffs until the end, shooting 53.8% from two and 87.0% at the line. Winning the 2022-23 BSL, instead, he had 15.4 points per game.

Before joining Ergin Ataman’s team in Turkey, the Serbian phenomenon started his professional career with Mega, leaving it in 2014 to join Bayern Munich and going on loan for one season to Crvena Zvezda. Later on, he also wore the jerseys of Tofas Bursa and Zalgiris Kaunas, opening his path to Istanbul.
