Oklahoma won convincingly at the start of the new season, defeating the Chicago Bulls 104:124 on the road, but Vasilije Micić didn’t get the chance to make his official debut, despite performing well during the preseason.

However, the 2021 EuroLeague MVP is not discouraged.

This is something I knew before coming here, that I would start from the bench. It’s okay with me because coming to the NBA was my dream. I came to a good organization, it’s just the beginning, seasons are long, anything can happen, but I’m glad to be here,” said Micić for RTS.

He also touched on the Olympic Games, emphasizing that he wants to play for Serbia next summer in Paris.

I hope I’ll play. I think the team is great and I believe we have great potential, I just hope everyone stays healthy,” added the Serbian player who decided to cross the Atlantic this summer as one of the best European point guards.

His teammate and compatriot Aleksej Pokusevski is entering his fourth NBA season as a member of the Thunder. Injury prevented him from playing for Serbia in the World Championship. He has recovered and logged two minutes in the season opener.

I’m coming back from injury, it takes time to get back into rhythm, but for now, I feel good. I didn’t play preseason games, but I believe I’ll gradually manage to get back into the rotation,” Pokusevski concluded.
