During the NBA Night, the Orlando Magic managed to get the 102-97 win on the road against the Portland Trail Blazers, pushed by his German duo composed of the Wagner brothers.

In order to get the victory, in fact, the contribution of both Franz and Moritz was determinant. The former had 23 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists, while his older brother went close to a double-double with 17 points and 9 rebounds.

After the game, the younger spoke about the final minutes of the game, where Orlando struggled and got its gap reduced by the Trail Blazers, acting as a veteran of this team after winning the 2023 FIBA World Cup with the German national team.

“I think today is one of those days where we can definitely learn from the last couple of minutes, but it definitely helps having been in those moments, and having a look at it in practice and on film, and seeing what decides those close games. I think today we didn’t do a great job with that, but we’ll keep learning and keep looking at stuff we did wrong”, the former ALBA Berlin player said.

The Orlando Magic started the 2023-24 NBA Regular Season 2-0, beating the Houston Rockets and the Portland Trail Blazers in back-to-back fashion, as the German small forward has been averaging 21.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game.
