Dealing with an injury issue, Maxi Kleber was limited to 19 minutes of action across two appearances with the Dallas Mavericks in November. And he is set to miss additional action.

Kleber, 31, dislocated his right small toe against the Chicago Bulls on November 1. He was cleared to play against the Toronto Raptors and lasted 15 minutes in the losing effort on Wednesday, before shifting back into the injury list. The German forward will be reevaluated in two weeks.

“He tried to play on it, and it was still bothering him, so we’re going to give him extended time to heal. He will be reevaluated in a couple of weeks,” revealed head coach Jason Kidd.

Ruled out for at least two weeks, Kleber will follow the team and rehab during a four-game road trip. Kidd’s side will face the New Orleans Pelicans on tonight’s edition of NBA Sundays and again on Tuesday, the Washington Wizards on Wednesday, and the Milwaukee Bucks on next week’s installment of NBA Saturdays.

In a limited contribution to the 7-2 start in the 2023-24 NBA Regular Season, Kleber put in 3.4 points, 4.2 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 0.2 blocks per contest over five appearances.

The current campaign is the seventh in a row with the Mavs, since moving his talents to the NBA as an undrafted free agent in 2017. Kleber previously played for FC Bayern Munich, Rio Natura Monbus Obradoiro, and s.Oliver Wurzburg in Europe.
