Giannis Antetokounmpo had another stellar performance, leading his team to a win over the Washington Wizards with historic numbers.

After the game in D.C, he was asked to comment on one of the Wizards‘ most talented players, French international Bilal Coulibaly.

He had very good moments, played extremely hard, guarding Dame. He wasn’t scared of the moment. He had a couple of backdoor cuts, a couple of dunks, transition… He’s in the right mindset, not trying to be flashy, trying to play extremely hard, help his teammates, be in the right position, and play the game the right way. The more he has that attitude, eventually he’s gonna get the ball more to make plays for himself. Maybe in his third year, the coach may call plays for him. Keep on working on your body, stay healthy, the sky is gonna be the limit for him,” Antetokounmpo said.

He then proceeded to give Washington’s rookie some advice.

Just work. Extremely hard. Be coachable. There’s gonna be a lot of ups and downs, so get yourself mentally ready for that. No matter what you do on the court, you fall back to being who you really are, which is a hard worker, and you cannot fail. Play well or bad, lift weights. Lose by 30 or win by 40, wake up the next day, and go on the court. Eventually, with that kind of mindset, it’s just a matter of time when you’ll excel.”

Coulibaly played with Victor Wembanyama last season at Metropolitans, got drafted as the No. 7 pick in the previous draft, and is averaging 8.2 points with four rebounds and two assists on 50% shooting from the field since arriving in the NBA.
