Terrence Ross has decided to retire after 11 years in the NBA. The former Toronto, Orlando, and Phoenix player cited a desire to spend more time with his family and some of the injuries he suffered later in his career as factors in his decision.

I think now, especially after so much time has passed, I’m done. I’m starting to see how much I love being at home and just playing the role of a dad. To just be part of my family,” Ross said on his podcast.

The 32-year-old was drafted as the 8th overall pick in 2012 by the Raptors and played 733 regular-season games, averaging 11 points and 2.8 rebounds. He also appeared in 47 playoff matches, averaging 7.6 points and 2.1 rebounds.

Early in his NBA career, Ross showcased his extraordinary athletic abilities by winning the Slam Dunk Contest in 2013.

Recently, he was linked with a move to Europe, talking on his podcast about moving to Serbia, with reports linking him to Partizan Mozzart Bet. However, coach Zeljko Obradovic quickly put those rumors to bed.

I don’t know who is doing it, who is making these stories,Obradovic said just a couple of weeks after the start of the season in the EuroLeague.”
