Vasilije Micic went to the NBA last summer and signed a three-year deal with the Oklahoma City Thunder, but after just a couple of months, he changed his environment.

Oklahoma traded him to Charlotte, where he started finding his groove. The former EuroLeague MVP is having the needed space and opportunity with the Hornets, and the future is looking brighter for the Serbian point guard in the North Carolina team.

Speaking to Mundo Deportivo, Micic spoke about his time in the NBA but also touched on his future. But first, he talked about the differences between OKC and Charlotte.

I don’t think I’m doing anything different; I just now have more playing time. I’m trying to get better based on the way I see basketball. Playing in just ten matches for one team, you don’t have time to show anything special. This is how I feel,” Micic said.

Micic has a contract for another season and has a club option for his third year. So, what does the future hold for the former EuroLeague MVP?

I don’t know; it’s a long shot. I have a contract next year as well, so we’ll see. I want to give myself a chance to work hard and improve. I hope to spend most of the summer working on my game. There are certain things that you have to work on, those specific things to be better in the NBA.”

Is he thinking about returning to Europe? The journalist of the Catalan paper was expectedly interested in whether he would like to play for Barcelona one day.

Of course, I like Barcelona; it is one of the great teams in Europe. I was close once, but it didn’t happen due to circumstances. But, whatever, my heart is also at Efes, where I spent five years. If I returned to Europe, I would give my best,” Micic concluded.
