Despite Charlotte losing 107-96 to the Phoenix Suns during the NBA night, Vasilije Micic provided the best performance on his team, dropping 21 points with 7/12 from the field and 7/9 at the line.
In the post-game press conference, he was praised by élite opponents. Kevin Durant showed his appreciation. “He is a skilled player. He knows how to play guard. He is smart and takes advantage of opportunities. I’m happy for him”, he said, before being followed by Devin Booker.
The American guard underlined his importance within the Hornets. “[Vasilije] Micic played a very good match, but coming into it we knew it would be like this. He was one of the players at the top of the scout reports. He still played a very good game”, he commented.
On the other end, the Serbian playmaker and back-to-back EuroLeague champs with Efes talked about his admiration for Kevin Durant. “He is an incredible player, one of my favorites. He is one of the most talented players I have ever seen in my life”, he said.
After beginning the season with the Oklahoma City Thunder, Vasilije Micic got traded to the Charlotte Hornets before the All-Star Break. Since changing teams, he has been averaging solid numbers: 11.9 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 5.9 assists per game.
