Writing his team’s history by becoming the second highest scorer for Cleveland in an NBA Playoffs game after LeBron James, who had 51 points in Game 1 of the 2018 NBA Finals against the Golden State Warriors, Donovan Mitchell wasn’t enough.

The former Utah Jazz star dropped a losing effort of 50 points with 4 rebounds and 4 assists, shooting 22/36 from the field, but the Orlando Magic still managed to come out victorious 103-96 at home, tying the series at 2-2.

“We did a great job of staying together and we were all locked in, but ultimately we didn’t end up with the victory, so we just have to go home and take care of business. We didn’t win the game. At the end of the day, I had 50 but we lost”, Donovan Mitchell commented.

Franz Wagner was one of his team’s protagonists in the win, ending with 26 points and 5 rebounds while being perfect from the free-throw line with 11/11. Paolo Banchero followed him by going close to a double-double at 27 points and 8 rebounds.

The Italian-American forward shared his excitement in the aftermath. “We’ve definitely learned a lot through this series, seeing what works and what doesn’t work. Knowing what we have to do to win a gameI’m excited. It’s a do-or-die situation, so we’ll have to put together another special effort”, he commented.
