According to Shams Charania, Thanasis Antetokounmpo suffered a torn Achilles and will undergo surgery, putting an end to his possibilities of playing with the Greek national team this summer.

In the 2023-24 season, the 31-year-old forward only spent 4.6 minutes per game over 34 total appearances, averaging just 0.9 points, 0.4 rebounds, and 0.5 assists per game, taking the charismatic role in the locker room more than on the floor.

Alongside his brother in Milwaukee since 2019, he first moved to the US in 2013 to play with the Delaware 87ers, moving later on to the Westchester and New York Knicks. He also played in Europe with Andorra and for two seasons between 2017 and 2019 with Panathinaikos in the EuroLeague.
