The Denver Nuggets, the reigning NBA champions, and the 2023/24 MVP Nikola Jokic are out of the Playoffs after losing Game 7 to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
After the match, Jokic shared his thoughts about the game and the whole series, praising the Minneapolis team for advancing.
“They’re built to beat us. Look at their roster. Two All-Stars, two of the best defenders, Mike Conley, is the most underrated player in the NBA. I love him; he’s so good and always makes the right play. On the bench, they have the best sixth man and Anderson and Alexander-Walker. They can do everything,” Jokic said.
The defending champions didn’t even make it to the Conference Finals.
“Some teams never win again,” Jokić was brutally honest. “We need to improve as a team. The league is very talented, and you have to be basically perfect to win the title. It’s hard because the teams are hungrier, better, and more talented than last season. Everyone got better, and everyone wants to beat us.”
Since he finished the season in May, will he be joining the Serbian National Team for the 2024 Paris Olympics?
“I don’t know, my friend, we will see. I need to think about it,” Nikola Jokic concluded.
