Dealing with trade rumors is far from simple but Bosnian Jusuf Nurkic uses experience to focus on his playing duties

Several players, including Jusuf Nurkic, can end up being traded to another NBA team over the next few weeks.

The 30-year-old Bosnian center discussed the possibility of being traded away from the Phoenix Suns.

“I have been long enough in this league and certainly, no one cares,” he said after a losing effort against the Charlotte Hornets in Spectrum Center on Tuesday, per The Arizona Republic, “At this point, the only choice I have is to be a pro and that is what I am going to do. I do not want to make problems for my teammates or for the organization. I will be a pro as much as possible and do what people ask of me. Control what I can control and that is the only way I can be.”

Among adjustments to counter a poor run through the 2024-25 Regular Season, Nurkic came off the bench opposite the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday and the Hornets on Tuesday. This decision was naturally labeled as a confirmation of the Suns seeking a trade involving the experienced big.

“I do not really have the same feelings or whatever,” Nurkic compared the current situation to the Denver Nuggets trading him midway through the 2016-17 Regular Season to focus on emerging superstar Nikola Jokic, “I am way more mature than I was back then and played with some great superstars in Portland. Taught me a lot about how to handle situations. Everything else is not in my control.”
