With six players in double figures the Cleveland Cavaliers crushed the Miami Heat 124 – 87 to go up 3-0 in the first-round series between the two teams.
This 37-point deficit marks the worst playoff loss in the history of the Miami Heat.
Jarrett Allen had 22 points and grabbed 10 rebounds while De’Andre Hunter scored 21 to lead the charge for the Cavaliers. Max Strus produced 18 points, nine rebounds and five assists while Ty Jerome dished out 13 assists to go with his 11 points.
“Our guys knew that was the key, rebounding and winning the rebounding battle,” Cavaliers coach Kenny Atkinson said. “We really executed defensively.”
For the disappointing Heat, Bam Adebayo had 22 points. Davion Mitchell pitched in 16 points.
“Look, our guys really want this and it probably looks like our guys don’t,” Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said. “But I know what our last six weeks have been like, just to fight and scratch and claw to get into this.”
