With their backs against the wall and the possibility of going out of the NBA Playoffs, the Houston Rockets fought back, winning 115-107 on the road against Golden State.
Alperen Sengun put up a double-double of 21 points and 14 rebounds, dishing out 6 assists as well. “I feel like I have to play like this. I know I have to play aggressive – that’s my mindset,” he commented.
The Turkish star has been averaging 20.8 points, 11.5 rebounds, 5.3 assists, and 2.0 steals per game in the NBA Playoffs thus far – this is his first series in the postseason since coming over to the States.
In order to beat Golden State and force Game 7, moreover, Fred Van Vleet stepped up with 29 points, shooting 6/9 from beyond the arc, and perfecting it 9/9 at the line.
It looked like an old-fashioned performance, reminiscent of Toronto days in the 2019 NBA Finals. Houston’s #5 also grabbed 8 rebounds and shared 8 assists.
For Golden State, the Batman-Robin duo, composed of Steph Curry and Jimmy Butler, combined for 56 points, but they weren’t enough. Game 7 will now be played on Monday, the 5th of May.
