Per Celtics:
“Jayson Tatum today underwent successful surgery to repair a ruptured right Achilles tendon. No timetable is currently available for his return, but he is expected to make a full recovery. Further updates will be provided when appropriate.”
Tatum was hurt while diving to get a loose ball with 2:58 to play and the Celtics down 104 – 113. He had 42 points, eight rebounds, four assists, four steals before exiting the floor.
“It’s tough,” said Jaylen Brown after the game. “There’s not really a lot to say.”
The series now moves to Boston where the Celtics have to manage without their best player in a knockout game for them as the Knicks lead 3-1.
