The NBA officially confirmed the Dallas Mavericks and Detroit Pistons as the teams for the 34th game in Mexico.
The NBA Mexico City Game 2025 will be played at the Arena CDMX in Mexico City on November 1, coinciding with the traditional Dia de Muertos celebrations for a second consecutive year, as announced on Tuesday.
“We take significant pride in the fact that the Mavericks organization and our supporters reflect the increased globalization of basketball and the NBA,” said Mavericks chief executive officer Rick Welts, “The vibrancy of Mexico City and the passion of its fans make it the perfect place to host these Global Games, and we are thrilled at the opportunity to represent the NBA and the city of Dallas in Mexico City for the eighth time.”
“The Detroit Pistons organization is excited to be participating in The NBA Mexico City Game 2025 next season,” mentioned the Pistons president of basketball operations and two-time EuroLeague champion Trajan Langdon, “Playing a regular-season game in Mexico City will be a great experience for our players and coaches, and we look forward to showcasing Detroit Basketball to an international audience and a passionate, growing NBA fanbase.”
“The Mavericks and Pistons are two exciting teams that feature a mix of established and rising stars,” added NBA Latin America senior vice president and head of operations Raul Zarraga, “We look forward to welcoming them back to Mexico and to once again celebrating Dia de Muertos with the passionate NBA fans in Mexico and from across Latin America.”
