The NBA star joins EuroStep Ventures, signaling ambitions for the club and the growing presence of NBA Europe

NBA star Ja Morant is making waves off the court by entering the world of French basketball. Through his company, Catch12, the two-time NBA All-Star has joined EuroStep Ventures (ESV), the parent company of the Levallois Metropolitans, a club competing in France’s Nationale 1 league, per BeBasket.

The Metropolitans brand has gained recognition in the U.S., especially following Victor Wembanyama’s season, which was broadcast in full on NBA TV.

The partnership with Morant signals a long-term vision that goes beyond simple investment—it emphasizes culture, talent development, and global growth. Catch12’s executive team, led by Morant’s uncle Phil, stressed that this move is about building a platform for the future.
Investing in EuroStep isn’t just a business decision—it’s an investment in people, values, and opportunity,” Phil said.

Levallois, currently leading its NM1 group, has bigger ambitions than domestic success, with sights set on a return to the top-tier LNB and potential involvement in NBA Europe.

According to Sam Katzin-Simon, ESV co-founder, the Morant-backed deal represents “a significant step toward shaping the future of basketball in Paris and beyond.”
