Boston Celtics center Nikola Vucevic fractured the ring finger on his right hand during win over the Dallas Mavericks.

Vucevic left the game after playing less than two minutes. He is expected to undergo a procedure on Saturday and will likely miss around a month, according to ESPN.

The veteran big man had recently joined Boston in a trade from the Chicago Bulls before last month’s deadline, and Friday’s game was his 12th appearance for the Celtics.

In that span, the 15-year NBA veteran averaged 11.4 points and 7.8 rebounds in 23.5 minutes, providing depth in Boston’s frontcourt alongside Neemias Queta and Luka Garza.

Tatum returns

Vucevic’s injury occurred on the same night that Jayson Tatum made his return to the court for the first time in 10 months following a torn Achilles.

The star forward played over 27 minutes, contributing 15 points, 12 rebounds, and seven assists.
