Edin Avdic, one of the best basketball journalists and commentators in the Balkans, passed away on Wednesday.
This news has been confirmed by numerous Serbian media outlets, and the exact cause of death is still unknown.
Edin Avdic was born in Sarajevo in 1979. From early childhood he played basketball for Bosna. In the youth categories he played as a guard, and after moving to the first team he became an excellent point guard. After some time, he decided to stop playing basketball and devote himself to his studies. He graduated from the Faculty of Political Sciences in Sarajevo.
He got his first job at Federal Television, and after that he worked at OBN. There he stood out with his energetic broadcasts of NBA games, as well as of the national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Later, he also worked at the Arena Sport television network.
In the last few years, he was the author of the podcast “X&O’s chat,” where he talked with some of the biggest names in European and world basketball. Among his guests were Zeljko Obradovic, Milos Teodosic, Nikola Jokic, Ettore Messina, Zarko Paspalj, Vassilis Spanoulis and many others.
