The NBA has rescinded the technical foul assessed to New York Knicks center Mitchell Robinson during Game 2 of the NBA Finals against the San Antonio Spurs.

Robinson was whistled for a technical foul following an exchange with Spurs superstar Victor Wembanyama at the 4:56 mark of the second quarter. The two players were battling for position when the incident occurred.

Following a league review, the NBA determined that the technical foul should be removed from Robinson’s record.

The Knicks went on to edge the Spurs 105-104 and take a 2-0 lead in the championship series. Robinson contributed seven points, three rebounds, one steal and one block in 14 minutes off the bench.

His defensive impact proved significant late in the game, as he challenged Wembanyama’s potential game-winning shot in the closing seconds to help secure the victory for New York.
