Trae Young intends to sign a four-year, $212 million contract with the Washington Wizards.

According to Shams Charania, Young declined a player option worth $49 million to sign the new deal, which also includes a player option in the fourth year.

“Trae Young intends to sign a four-year, approximately $212 million deal to stay with the Washington Wizards, with a player option in Year 4, sources tell ESPN. The four-time NBA All-Star declined his $49M player option for a long-term commitment ahead of free agency.”

Young could have earned slightly more money but accepted the maximum amount he could receive from another franchise to stay in D.C.

After being traded from the Atlanta Hawks, Young played only five games for the Wizards, averaging 15.2 points, 6.2 assists, and three rebounds.

Last night, we saw several interesting trades, and after many rumors, Giannis Antetokounmpo ended up with the Miami Heat. Additionally, Julius Randle will be part of the Brooklyn Nets starting next season.
