Draymond Green is set to remain with the Golden State Warriors for another season.
According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, Green and the Warriors have agreed to a one-year, $27.7 million contract for the 2026-27 campaign.
The 36-year-old previously declined a player option worth the same amount, giving Golden State additional flexibility in its unsuccessful pursuit of LeBron James, who ultimately joined the Philadelphia 76ers.
Green has spent his entire career with the Warriors since being selected with the 35th pick in the 2012 NBA Draft. He has played an integral role in four championship runs, while earning four All-Star selections, nine All-Defensive Team honors and the 2017 Defensive Player of the Year award.
The veteran forward averaged 8.4 points, 5.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists last season, shooting 41.8% from the field and 32.6% from three-point range.
After missing the playoffs with a 37-45 record, Golden State retained most of its free agents and added frontcourt depth through Al Horford, Kristaps Porzingis and Charles Bassey. Green will therefore return as one of the central figures in Steve Kerr’s rotation alongside Stephen Curry and Jimmy Butler.
