Rick Carlisle described Luka Doncic as the most unique player he has coached during his NBA career.
Carlisle worked with Doncic during his first three seasons with the Dallas Mavericks, overseeing his development from a celebrated European prospect into an All-NBA superstar.
“From a talent standpoint, ability and everything else, he’s the most unique player I’ve ever worked with. He’s just so good, and he’s a killer competitor, too,” Carlisle said on The Draymond Green Show.
The experienced coach also stressed how difficult Doncic is to stop when surrounded by a suitable supporting cast.
“You put the right guys around him, and I defy you to figure out a way to beat him because he is smart as hell, knows every trick in the book and knows how to win,” Carlisle added.
