The New York Knicks are balancing high expectations with a steady infusion of global talent. At preseason media day on Monday, the roster displayed a quiet maturity, framing their upcoming title defense as pure confidence rather than arrogance. With the team formally back at the training facility from Tuesday, the focus sits squarely on daily improvement and unselfish culture.
British forward OG Anunoby enters the 2026–27 campaign looking to build on his past success. He noticed a major leap in his efficiency after analyzing his errors on tape. “I think I became a better shooter for sure,” he said, pointing to his strict routine. “I’ve always worked hard. I’ve always analyzed makes and misses and just tried to be as good as possible. Be a perfect shooter. I don’t like missing shots.”
The two-time NBA champion refuses to dwell on his iconic postseason moments from last year’s Finals. When asked about his legacy in New York, he stayed modest. “I don’t really think about it that much, but I know it was a big play. It makes me happy that I brought joy to everyone. Hopefully do something like that again,” he noted.
This relentless approach extends to the French players on the roster, including Mohamed Diawara. Anunoby spoke highly of 21-year-old Mo. “I think he has endless upside,” he said. “He’s very talented. He can do a lot. Shoot, defend, pass. He can do everything. Really versatile player. I’m excited to see him grow. I think he’s going to keep getting better and better.”
Fellow French option, Pacome Dadiet, currently rounds out this European contingent, giving the Knicks a deep, resilient bench ready for the long 2026–27 Regular Season.
