The Memphis Grizzlies have hired former Paris Basketball head coach Julius Thomas as an assistant under Tuomas Iisalo. Iisalo announced the addition at the team’s media day on September 28.
Thomas and Iisalo previously worked together at Telekom Baskets Bonn and Paris, where they helped the club win the 2024 EuroCup.
Thomas stayed in Paris after Iisalo left for the NBA, serving on the staffs of Tiago Splitter and Francesco Tabellini.
When Paris parted ways with Tabellini in March 2026, Thomas took over as interim head coach for the rest of the season. Then 28, he became one of the youngest coaches to lead a team in the EuroLeague.
Paris reached the French league finals under his leadership before he left the club in June. ParisBasketball
