Cleveland Cavaliers star Donovan Mitchell has signed a new multiyear contract extension with Adidas, extending a partnership that has grown into one of the NBA’s longest-running signature-shoe relationships, as Shams Charania reported.

The new agreement will take Mitchell through a 10th signature shoe with the German sportswear giant, a milestone that would place him among a select group of active NBA players to reach double figures with the same brand.

The extension also carries a significant community component. As part of the renewed partnership, Adidas will provide additional resources to Greenwich Country Day School in Connecticut, Mitchell’s former school, with the goal of helping students from underserved communities gain greater access to educational resources.

The connection between Mitchell and Greenwich Country Day extends well beyond his time as a student. In 2020, Mitchell and his family pledged $12 million to the school, supporting scholarships, faculty development and other educational initiatives.

That commitment has already resulted in the creation of the Donovan Mitchell Family Athletic Center, known as “The DON,” a state-of-the-art facility that opened to the school community in 2024. The school has also highlighted the role of Mitchell’s philanthropy in expanding access to education through scholarships and supporting teachers.

The Cavaliers guard has also recently committed his long-term future to Cleveland. In July, Mitchell agreed to a four-year, $273 million contract extension with the Cavaliers, keeping him under contract through the 2030-31 season if he exercises his player option.
