Dennis Schröder is embracing his latest NBA chapter with the Charlotte Hornets, praising the welcome he has received following his offseason trade from Cleveland.

Speaking after the fourth day of training camp in Charleston, Schröder highlighted his longstanding relationships with head coach Charles Lee and executive Jeff Peterson, dating back to his Atlanta days.

“The players made the transition really easy for me on the court. Off the court, we still have to get settled with the family, but overall, I’m really happy to be here. It’s been amazing,” Schröder said.

The veteran guard also welcomed the opportunity to build chemistry away from Charlotte, with team activities bringing players, coaches and the front office closer together.

“Coming together even off the court and building team chemistry is really important. We did a lot of activities as well, and I think that helped the team come together.”

Schröder is also looking to support German rookies Hannes Steinbach and Christian Anderson. He praised Hannes’ talent and recalled practicing with Anderson during a national team camp.

“I try to help them have a great season and fight through it. There are a lot of ups and downs.”

Charlotte acquired Schröder from the Cavaliers in exchange for Tre Mann. The Hornets will be his 12th NBA team and sixth in the past 20 months, after he averaged 8.2 points and 4.3 assists in 30 regular-season appearances for Cleveland.
