Miikka Muurinen drew a lot of attention with his performances at EuroBasket 2025, where he led Finland to fourth place with several excellent games.
The Finn was not intimidated by Nikola Jokic and Serbia, and together with the team, he created one of the biggest surprises of the tournament. This caught the attention of many, and Miikka soon became a member of Partizan.
However, Miikka didn’t stay long with the Belgrade team, and he is now in the NCAA league as a member of the Arkansas Razorbacks.
Many predict a high draft position for Muurinen, including Penny Hardaway, the coach of the Memphis Tigers, who points out that the power forward could be the first pick in the next NBA draft.
“I think he played against seven or eight pros today. And Miikka could be number one overall draft pick. This dude is ridiculous. He’s like so long, so active.
When he spreads his arms, man, it looks like he can cover the entire arena. I mean, he really reminds me of Victor Wembanyama type of players or like Greek Freak, Giannis type player. Just seeing that tonight, and the rest of the crew.”
