A viral career trivia challenge perfectly captures how NBA icons forget their own historic milestones

In a viral career trivia challenge hosted by the NBA, Miami Heat’s Giannis Antetokounmpo made a definitive statement about his legacy.

When reminded that he is one of only three players to win the Most Valuable Player and Defensive Player of the Year awards in the same season, he confidently claimed his crown.

“In my era, best two-way player. I can prove it,” the Greek Freak asserted. “Best offensive player, MVP. Best defensive player too. Defensive Player of the Year.”

While Giannis used the moment to reinforce his standard of excellence, the video peaked with comedy when other veterans failed their history exams.

The relaxed sit-downs proved that NBA icons can dominate on the floor but go completely blank on their own milestones.

This simple premise subjected several of the league’s brightest stars to their historic box scores, where they frequently struggled to recall basic details of their resumes, from their very first career assists to specific 50-point outings.

For instance, Denver Nuggets leader Nikola Jokic remembered his first career assist but mostly fell short across the remaining questions.

Joining the Greek and Serbian superstars, the lineup also included Kevin Durant, Jaylen Brown, Kawhi Leonard, Klay Thompson, Jayson Tatum, Anthony Davis, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and Draymond Green. However, the funniest exchange belonged to Kyrie Irving. When asked how many 50-point games he had accumulated, the 34-year-old guard jokingly guessed ‘about 50 of them’.

Ultimately, the challenge proved that while these champions excel at making history, they do not always memorize it.
