A volatile third-quarter sequence triggered the ejection of Draymond Green and set the tone for a physical Monday night battle, as the Golden State Warriors clawed back from a 17-point deficit to defeat the Phoenix Suns at Chase Center.
The game turned chaotic just two minutes into the second half when Khaman Maluach shoved 36-year-old Green to the floor in the paint. Green jumped up, wrapped his arms around the Suns center, and threw him to the floor. Dillon Brooks immediately rushed into the fray to confront the four-time NBA champion, sparking a brief shoving match. Green put his hand on Brooks’ neck, resulting in technical fouls for both players and an automatic ejection for the Golden State forward.
Things boiled over again with 7:26 remaining in the fourth quarter during a battle for a rebound under the basket. Charles Bassey kept his arms locked around Jalen Green’s head, prompting Miles Bridges to sprint to the baseline and shove Bassey. Security personnel stepped in to separate the rosters, and officials hit Bridges with a technical for escalating the scuffle.
Through the disruptions, Stephen Curry kept the Warriors steady. He poured in 34 points, dished out seven assists, and grabbed six rebounds, while Bassey provided a massive lift off the bench with eight boards and a career-high 19 points.
The victory marks a complete flip in the script. After stumbling to a 0–3 start to open the 2026–27 Regular Season, they have won five in a row. Now sitting seventh in the Western Conference at 5–3, they are back at Chase Center next Thursday to host Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Miami Heat.
