Dwyane Wade commented on Donald Trump’s controversial tweet that followed the shooting death of his cousin saying it leaves “a bad taste” in his mouth.

One day after Wade’s first cousin, Nykea Aldridge, was shot dead in Chicago, Trump tweeted “Dwyane Wade’s cousin was just shot and killed walking her baby in Chicago. Just what I have been saying. African-Americans will VOTE TRUMP!”

When asked about the tweet in an interview by George Stephanopoulos of ABC,  the Chicago Bulls‘ superstar said “I was kind of conflicted. One one end your cousin’s death is used for political ploy. I was grateful that it started a conversation but on the other end, it just left a bad taste in my mouth because of what my family is dealing with and what our city of Chicago is dealing with and it looks like it’s being used as political gain.”
