One of the greatest players in the history of basketball had only the best to say for the young star of the Bucks.

NBA legend and six-time champion Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, the man that led Milwaukee Bucks to their only title in 1971, sang a song of high praise to Giannis Antetokounmpo, the current star of the team.

“He’s a pretty unusual talent to be that tall and that gifted and to understand the game the way he does,” Abdul-Jabbar said to Journal Sentinel. “They’ve got a great player there and I hope he continues to do well. I saw him play two or three years ago when I came and I saw a little flash of it. Geez, he’s really matured and learned the game and has done a great job.”

When asked how would he try to stop the Greek point-forward, his answer was quite clear. “I would have tried to get in his way. That would have been about it.”

Interestingly enough, not long after Kareem made the above comments, Giannis became just the second player after him in Bucks‘ history to notch 500 rebounds, 100 steals and 100 blocks during a single-season.
