Atlanta’s German point guard Dennis Schroder tried to keep up with Wall but he could only during the first half. Washington’s star scored 15 points in the third quarter and finished with 14 assists in the best playoff performance of his career.

Bradley Beal had 22 points for the Wizards, who got enough from their top players to offset 25 points from Atlanta’s Dennis Schroder and 19 from Paul Millsap. Polish hammer Marcin Gortat added 10 points and 14 rebounds against Dwight Howard (7 p. 14 r.) and Croatian Bojan Bogdanovic had 4 points for the winners.

For Atlanta Turk Ersan Ilyasova flirted with the double double (9 p. 9 r.) and Spaniard Juan Calderon added 2 points.
