Daniel Theis who is currently playing for the German defending champs, Brose Bamberg, has been a teammate of Schroeder in Braunschweig and speaking on Monday in a press conference held in their home town, the Hawks‘ point guard stated that he wants him in Atlanta.

“I’ll do everything I can to make sure he can come over,” said Schroeder according to Spox. Coach Mike Budenholzer who was recently in Europe, scouted Theis in a playoffs game and Schroder said about his fellow countryman who went undrafted: “Coach Bud praised him. He can get backup minutes and I hope he makes the leap.”

The 25 years old forward (2,03 m.) is not the only German player who can make the lead according to Schroeder, as coach Budenholzer also watched Maxi Kleber of Bayern Munich. “He has a very good chance, but he must try to stay fit”, said Schroeder about 25 years old Kleber who was also undrafted and suffered already more than his own share of injuries that kept him back.
