Papagiannis is a regular member of the Greek junior national team, which also includes in this call Kostas Antetokounmpo of the Dayton Flyers and Panathinaikos‘ Vasilis Charalampopoulos.
However this time Papagiannis – a star of this age-group in Greece – is expected to decline the invitation and compete in the NBA summer league with the Kings, while it’s also possible for him to be part at least of the training camp of the senior Greek national team, which will compete in September’s Eurobasket 2017.
The U20 European championship will be held in the Greek island of Crete between 15 and 23 of July.
