Last year no Oklahoma Thunder games weres shown in Turkey and this season the same thing applies with New York Knicks. The reason? Enes Kanter.

Every NBA game can be available on TV for fans in Turkey… minus the ones involving the New York Knicks.

Since Enes Kanter has been labeled as a “supporter of terrorism” by the Recep Tayyip Erdogan government, no Knicks matches are being shown on Turkish TV channels.

The Turkish center commented on this after last night’s victory of his team over the Phoenix Suns, during which he posted a double-double of 16 points/15 rebounds.

Per New York Post:

“Last year, all 29 other teams were shown in Turkey, but no OKC games because of the politics,” Kanter said. “Now they’re showing every other game but not Knicks. The president [Recep Tayyip Erdogan] is crazy. It’s sad all those people not just can’t watch me — on social media [they were tweeting], ‘We want to watch Russ [Westbrook],’ and they can’t watch because of me. Now they can’t watch Kristaps [Porzingis] because of me. They have to go to weird websites.”

The only legal way that someone in Turkey can watch New York Knicks games is via NBA’s League Pass.

Last season, Oklahoma City Thunder matches weren’t broadcasted on Turkish TV except for the period that Kanter stayed out of action due to an injury on his right forearm.
