Joakim Noah will miss the next two games of the New York Knicks after leaving the team on Thursday for personal reasons.

The French center has just played in seven games of the current campaign, after missing the first 12 matches following the suspension penalty he carried from 2016-2017 for “violating anti-drug policy”. He averages just 5.7 minutes per game.

According to ESPN, Noah has been “upset” with his lack of playing time but understands the reasons for it.

Knicks coach Jeff Hornack said that he won’t go into details regarding the “personal reasons” and added that Noah has been taking care of keeping himself in shape.

Per ESPN:

Jeff Hornacek said of Noah’s absence, “it’s for these two games and we’ll see” according to published reports. The Knicks play the Denver Nuggets on Thursday and finish their road trip on Friday against the Phoenix Suns.

Hornacek declined to comment on the reason or reasons behind Noah’s absence.

“We’re not going to comment on that stuff. Personal reasons; he won’t be with us for a couple of games,” the coach said, according to published reports. “He works hard to keep himself in shape. He’s professional that way. It’s always tough when you want to play.”
