ESPN college analyst and international draft expert Fran Fraschilla doesn’t believe that Luka Doncic will be a transcendent NBA player as Dirk Nowitzki or even Manu Ginobili.

In an interview he had with the ‘New York Daily News’, Fran Fraschilla said the following about the 19-year old phenom.

Although he says, he has the potential to be an All-Star in the world’s greatest league, he does not think Luka will be what we have been hearing about: “I think he’s going to be a very good NBA player. If I were to rate him the way teams rate guy — which is All-Star, starter, rotation player, fringe player, etc. — I would say he’s going to be a very successful starter in the NBA. With a chance, at times, to be an All-Star. But I do not see him as a transcendent talent in the way we would look at Dirk over a 20-year career or even potentially (Pau) Gasol or even (Manu) Ginobili.”

Besides, ESPN’s expert talked about Luka Doncic’s athleticism, and also compared him to Gordon Hayward and Manu Ginobili: “This kid by NBA standards is not a great athlete. I’d say he’s average. But where he makes up for it is in his skill and in his IQ. My comparison for him is that he has the skill level of a Gordon Hayward and a body type of a Hayward and the mind of the Ginobili,” Fraschilla said. “Now, that’s pretty good. If that, in fact, is what he turns out to be he’s going to have a very successful career.”

Doncic is currently leading Real Madrid to a 2-1 series lead over Panathinaikos Superfoods Athens for the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague playoffs and is averaging 16.0 points, 4.9 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game for the season. A few days ago, he also officially declared for the NBA Draft and as his Madrid teammates Fabian Causeur stated, he (Luka) is ready for the NBA.
