Giannis traveled together with his brother Kostas Antetokounmpo to Chicago for the draft combine and talked to ESPN about the meeting he had with coach Budenholzer prior to his signing with the Bucks.
As Giannis said: “He was the coach of the year We had a great conversation. We talked about the game plan, how he views me as a player, how he can help this team. I had a lot of tough questions for him, but he was fun. I’m excited to play for him.”
Giannis also admitted, when asked how he felt about the fact that the Bucks wanted him to meet the new coach before he signed, that “it means a lot to me. Obviously, I am not the guy making the decision and we can’t reverse that. The front office is not going to say to me how to shoot a jump shot. I do my job, they do their part, but it was nice having a conversation with him”.
